About the Faculty

All members of the MPCS department faculty are distinguished mathematicians and/or computer scientists, and are highly passionate about their fields. Small classes encourage an individualized approach to teaching. MPCS professors know their students and take a sincere interest in their academic progress and in ensuring they take all of the necessary steps to achieve their professional goals. MPCS faculty strive to provide students with a rigorous curriculum that will challenge their minds and enhance their knowledge.
Areas of Expertise
Professors in the MPCS department have impressive backgrounds with research and practical experience in computational physics, programming languages, software applications and development, mathematics education, systems analysis, database management systems, biophysics and applied technology, computational biology and bioinformatics, physics, and game programming.
All of the MPCS professors pride themselves on positive, active support for each individual student. They are people who live the Humanics philosophy and stand ready to help students inside and outside of the classroom, both while they are on campus and long after they leave. Even once students have completed their degrees, they are a part of the Springfield College and MPCS communities, and join an international network of caring and competent human beings. As graduates of Springfield College, students can rely on this far-reaching and readily accessible network of faculty and fellow alumni in the fields of mathematics, computer science, and computer technology – from whom they can reach out to for advice, support, and friendship.
