|Each semester, Springfield College business administration students have the opportunity to participate in “JA in a Day.” They go into city schools and teach students business and economic topics. They are paired with local business leaders. This results in not only an opportunity to reach out to the city's youth but also a networking opportunity.|
Students On-Site For Junior Achievement
Junior Achievement (JA) of Western Massachusetts is dedicated to providing economic education and financial literacy programs to the youth of western Massachusetts and Vermont.
JA of Western Massachusetts impacts thousands of young people each year, opening their minds to their potential and preparing them for life after graduation. As a member of JA Worldwide, JA of Western Massachusetts is a part of a global organization that operates in 123 countries and reaches 9.7 million students around the globe.
Junior Achievement programs are offered at no cost to the schools and community groups throughout western Massachusetts. All of the Junior Achievement programs correlate to the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) standards and the Massachusetts Frameworks set by the Department of Education. Junior Achievement’s age-appropriate, academically challenging programs are offered to local schools and community groups free of charge because of the financial support they receive from hundreds of local businesses, individuals, and foundations, in addition to special events, which include The Stock Market Challenge, Annual Bowl-A-Thon, and the Baystate Invitational Golf Tournament.
