Springfield College COSJ Students at Work in the Field

Springfield College Communications/Sports Journalism students are constantly making their marks in the professional world. Check out these examples of recent work done by COSJ students during their tenure at the SC.



Terrence Payne (2013) has used his internship with the Springfield Armor of the NBA D-League to freelance a number of stories, including this piece about former Duke standout Jon Scheyer he wrote for Dime Magazine online.



Tom King (2012) and Sam Dostaler (2013) combined on this thrilling live audio basketball call for MassLive.com's postseason coverage. Listen to the call beginning at 37:20 and try to stay in your seat when the game comes to its amazing conclusion at 42:30.

King's work at MassLive.com also included this piece about national high school hoop powerhouse Findlay Prep.



Ralph Garcea (2011) travelled to New York City alongside assistant professor Jody Santos to work on the PBS series "The Visionaries." Upon his return, he wrote this account.



What began as an independent music blog by Michael Cimaomo (2011) for Kyle Belanger's Internet Journalism class has turned into The Valley Advocate's Northeast Underground blog.



Justin Felisko (2012) spent a semester amassing online clips at MassLive.com. That experience included the privilege of working the NBA D-League Draft from inside the Springfield Armor's war room. (See video below)





Phil Garceau (2013) had his Thanksgiving Day football game story picked up by the Boston Herald.

Real-World Experience

Springfield College Assistant Professor of Communications Jody Santos recently took her students on a documentary shoot in New York City, where they got to participate in a real-world production. Professor Santos is a producer/director for the public television series "Visionaries," which is hosted by Law & Order's Sam Waterson.
