Office Of Housing and Residence Life Graduate Associate Job Description/Programming
The Graduate Associate reports to the Assistant Director of Housing & Residence Life and he/she serves as an integral member of the department. The Graduate Associate assists with the training and programmatic aspects of the Office of Housing & Residence Life. He/she must be able to work twenty (20) hours per week in order to assist the Assistant Director of Residence Life on a daily basis while completing assigned tasks. This person must be able to work on an independent basis with little supervision at times. He/she must also be able to collaborate on projects and tasks the Office of Housing & Residence Life completes. This person must be an effective communicator as he/she will be dealing with people on the phone and in the office on a daily basis. Some duties this person will be expected to perform include:| 1. | Assist in daily operations of the Office of Housing & Residence Life programming department. |
| 2. | Assist in the analysis and presentation of all assessments done by the Office of Housing & Residence Life. |
| 3. | Assist in the planning and implementation of the resident director and resident assistant summer trainings. |
| 4. | Assist in the implementation of the monthly in-service training sessions. |
| 5. | Assist in the marketing and publicity of the room draw and resident assistant selection processes. |
| 6. | Assist in the marketing and publicity of the College’s graduate housing including, but limited to, the graduate housing brochure, all graduate open houses, and graduate housing tours. |
| 7. | Assist in the operations of the graduate housing including, but not limited to, work orders, health and safety inspections, and furniture inventory. |
| 8. | Design and publish the bi-weekly Residence Life departmental newsletter. |
| 9. | Design and publish the monthly Graduate Housing newsletter. |
| 10. | Design and organize the monthly Residence Life Programming Calendar. |
| 11. | Assist in the tracking and data collection of all programming done in the residence halls. |
| 12. | Design and continually update the bulletin board outside the programming office. |
| 13. | Participate in all committees deemed necessary by the Director of Housing & Residence Life. |
| 14. | Assist in the implementation of all campus wide programs coming out of the Office of Housing & Residence Life. |
| 15. | Assist in the assessment of the Office of Housing & Residence Life’s technology needs and daily operations. |
| 16. | Assist with disciplinary hearings and submits judicial sanctions as necessary to the Assistant Director of Residence Life. |
| 17. | Provide presentations for the department and serves a representative at conferences, Admissions open house events, and other activities. |
| 18. | Assist with other duties as assigned by the Director of Housing & Residence Life. |
